Metallothionein was purchased from Abcam (Cambridge, UK). Nafion 117 solution (5% w/v mixture of low molecular weight alcohols) was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich. Phosphate buffer solution (PBS) was prepared by mixing stock solution of 0.1 M NaH2PO4 and 0.1 M Na2HPO4 and adjusting the pH. Other reagents were of analytical regent grade. All solutions were prepared with deionized water by a Milli-Q water purification system (Millipore, Milford, MA, USA). Apparatus. ECL intensity versus potential was detected by using a system made in our laboratory, consisting of a BPCL Ultra-Weak Chemiluminescence Analyzer controlled by a personal computer with BPCL program (Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences) in conjunction with a CHI 760 electrochemical analyzer (Shanghai Chenghua Instrument Co., China). The electrochemical analyzer was used for controlling waveforms and potentials. A conventional three-electrode system was used for the electrolytic system, including a bare GCE or modified GC electrode as the working electrode, a platinum wire as the counter electrode and Ag/AgCl electrode (sat. KCl) as the reference electrode. A commercial 5 ml cylindroid glass cell was used as ECL cell, and

Additive-free synthesis of unique TiO2 mesocrystals with enhanced lithium-ion intercalation properties†

Unique nanorod-like mesocrystals constructed from ultrathin rutile TiO2 nanowires were successfully fabricated for the first time using a low-temperature additive-free synthetic route, and the mesocrystal formation requirements and mechanism in the absence of polymer additives were discussed. The ultrathin nanowires were highly crystalline and their diameters were found to be ca. 3–5 nm. The ru...

Rutile TiO2 Mesocrystals/Reduced Graphene Oxide with High-Rate and Long-Term Performance for Lithium-Ion Batteries

An in situ hydrothermal route is developed for fabricating rutile TiO2 mesocrystals/reduced graphene oxide nanosheets (TGR) hybrids in the presence of dodecylbenzenesulphonic acid (ADBS). These rutile TiO2 mesocrystals with a Wulff shape are composed of ultra-tiny rod-like subunits with the same oriented direction and closely wrapped by the nanosheets of reduced graphene oxide (RGO). It is foun...

Dual-responses for electrochemical and electrochemiluminescent detection based on a bifunctional probe.

A bifunctional probe (PTC-Tb) which acts as not only a well-defined and stable electrochemical redox molecule but also as a highly efficient co-reactant of an electrochemiluminescent oxygen-peroxydisulfate system was firstly synthesized and applied to the construction of dual-response aptasensors for thrombin detection.
